Think Like an Owner – From HR Compliance to Cultural Curiosity

Getting employees to move from a “fixed” mindset where they don’t think much beyond their own needs and comfort zones to a “growth” mindset where they see opportunities to grow themselves and the business is every owner’s and manager’s dream. We’ll start this discussion from the seat of an owner who first had to move from a fixed to growth mindset before they could motivate their employees to do the same. Managers and leaders will be able to apply an owner mindset to their teams, while exploring some strategies to help get themselves and their teams moving in the right direction.

Sharon Thomas DeLay is an HR consultant, business owner, national HR speaker, and trainer, and owner and President of GO-HR, an HR consultancy working almost exclusively with small and micro businesses across five areas: HR strategy and compliance, recruiting and on-boarding, training and development, non-traditional benefits and consulting, and workplace investigations.
She maintains SPHR and SHRM-SCP HR professional certifications, and Career Coach (CPCC) and Résumé Writer (CPRW) certifications. She is also a certified EEO investigator and certified by SHRM to conduct workplace investigations.

Embracing Mental Health in the Workplace

Sometimes life is hard. The different stressors of life can result in challenges of mental health wellbeing. In fact, in 2021, 76% of U.S. workers reported at least one symptom of a mental health condition. We are all aware of its presence, yet mental wellbeing remains neglected despite its impact on our daily experiences. It is imperative, as employers, not merely to acknowledge the human condition but to empower it!
